Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 1982. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington located in Ohio left high school in order to move into Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first role as Rachel's Room's main character the online video series Rachel's Room in 2001. In 2002 she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main character for two seasons and won a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace left the show in order to concentrate on her film career. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role as Shannon in Lost for two more episodes. This included the series final. She was in 2013 for Season 6 of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who's the star-gazer and a the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit younger than Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was a teenager with small roles in several films that her father directed. She also worked with her brother on the 2001 popular film Donnie Darko. Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal received praise from critics for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) Both of which garnered their Golden Globe Award nods. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006 including World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). Following her acclaimed performance as a single mother of Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. After that, she went on to play in comedies as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (12). Other roles she has played include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and her role as the Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal's first film as a filmmaker and writer came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
